Steven R. Gumins
Founder & Managing Member
Athens Capital Management, LLC (ACM) was founded by managing member Steven Gumins. He is also the general partner of Athens Steady Return Fund, LP. With over four noteworthy decades of experience developing investment services for HNW investors, Steven serves as the fund’s portfolio manager and leads the fund’s core strategic development.
Steven began his distinguished career with Merrill Lynch in 1981, followed by Lehman Brothers and
several years as an independent futures trader, including time on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Mr. Gumins also served as CEO of an innovative startup software company, Heuristic Development Group.
Mr. Gumins earned his B.A. from the University of New York in Buffalo with course work in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and pursued graduate studies in Santiago, Chile.
Holding various senior sales, marketing, and management positions within the industry, he eventually started his own independent third-party placement services company for selected hedge funds. Mr. Gumins earned his B.A. from the University of New York in Buffalo with course work in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and pursued graduate studies in Santiago, Chile. He holds Series 7 and Series 63 licenses, is affiliated with Silver Leaf Partners, LLC, and is fluent in Spanish.
